Parymon Corp Awarded NOAA NMFS Contract to Support International Fisheries, Trade, and Sustainability Programs
Parymon Corp is proud to announce a new contract with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Office of International Affairs, Trade, and Commerce (IATC). Through this award, Parymon will provide analytical, technical, and programmatic support to help NOAA advance sustainable fisheries management and combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing worldwide.
The IATC leads U.S. engagement under key laws such as the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, the Marine Mammal Protection Act, the High Seas Driftnet Fishing Moratorium Protection Act, and the Maritime Security and Fisheries Enforcement (SAFE) Act, ensuring global collaboration on marine conservation and seafood trade monitoring.
Under this contract, Parymon will support IATC in three key areas:
International Affairs Support
Providing research and coordination for international fisheries management and protected species conservation; assisting in data collection, policy analysis, and development of briefing materials; and supporting bilateral, interagency, and multilateral engagements through Regional Fisheries Management Organizations (RFMOs).
Seafood Trade Monitoring and Compliance
Supporting NOAA’s Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) and related initiatives by assisting with industry compliance, developing stakeholder resources, managing public inquiries, and supporting trade data systems that ensure transparent and lawful seafood imports.
Data Analysis and Risk Assessment
Delivering advanced data analytics and economic assessments to inform SIMP decision-making, guiding risk analyses, and translating complex findings into actionable insights for NOAA leadership.
Parymon Corp is honored to support NOAA’s global mission to promote sustainable fisheries, strengthen seafood trade integrity, and protect marine resources through science-based policy and international cooperation.
